Addressing journalists in Ruiru town, the leaders warned Ruto to keep off Kiambu matters and allow the relevant bodies to conduct investigations accusing him of being a beneficiary who is abetting and consuming proceeds of the corruption eating away Kiambu County.

Adamant that money has been syphoned from the county coffers, the leaders, however, called for an independent audit query saying they have no confidence in auditor general’s office.

The Ferdinand Waititu-led government is accused of misappropriating close to sh2.5 billion through dubious expenditure at the county in the last financial year.

This is the second time this year that Ruto is facing reproach from Kenyans for seeming to shield graft suspects who less than three months ago was bluntly reprimanded for claiming that only sh7 billion was lost in the Kimwarer and Arror dams’ scandal, from the alleged 21bn.
