Let us not politicize the war against land grabbing, Sonko

Nairobi Senator and the Nairobi gubernatorial seat aspirant in 2017 politics Mbuvi Sonko has brushed off claims that he is strategically coming into Land grabbing cases to seek sympathy vote.

In a post on his social media, Sonko blamed Mr. Jairo Muriuki for calling him a tribal leader who is only focused on Asians and his fellow Kambas.

“Yesterday I was criticised by a Mr. Jairo Muriuki, who commented on my Facebook page as follows “ln all the anti grabbing videos you have been posting for the last 2 weeks now, I have only seen you rescuing Asians and your fellow Kambas, why haven’t you rescued any Kikuyu yet they are the majority property owners in Nairobi county”,” furious senator said.

Sonko further blamed Mr, Martin Nyakundi for for his latest comments that “Mbuvi Sonko always arrive at a home where an elderly woman is about to be evicted by hired goons at the opportune time with cameras and the press at toe.”

Through his post, Sonko denied the claim that all happenings are “pre-planned, premeditated and choreographed” as Nyakundi is believed to have said with aims “cheat the public”.

Responding to the critics, the senator denounced the aspect of him being tribal adding that he has all evidence to prove that.

“I am not a tribal leader. I took oath to serve all the people of Nairobi City County and Kenyans in general equally irrespective of their colour, race, ethnicity or political affiliation,” Sonko said through his Facebook post.

Sonko said that posting of photos and videos has nothing to do with need for publicity adding that he does that to expose how land/ property owners suffer under the cruel hands of land grabbers.

About media that covers all his movement, Sonko said that since law enforcers are not doing their part to protect landowners he cannot leave behind the media for it plays crucial role in exposing the goons.

“It is the aggrieved people who make distress calls to me to come to their rescue. I will not stop from responding to the distress calls of the people I serve. I will not entertain any kind of nonsense , I will deal with the cartels fearlessly as a no-nonsense leader who does not entertain corruption and impunity,” he added.

Wrapping up his defense, the Senator said that he is “currently handing over 30 similar cases” with “a case of of a 74-year-old widow JUDITH NJENGA who was thrown out of her one billion shillings family home in Upperhill a few months ago” among them to prove that he is not tribal as said.
