Liverpool set to sign Sadio Mane from Southampton today

Sadio Mane Southampton will arrive at Anfield on Monday to complete a spectacular £30million Liverpool move. The 24-year-old forward will undergo a medical and finalize contract terms before being unveiled on Tuesday as the fourth signing of Jurgen Klopp’s reign.

The Reds agreed a fee for Senegal international Mane over the weekend, after the Saints reduced their asking price of £40m for a player who has scored 25 goals in 75 Premier League games.

Klopp targeted the forward after failing in an attempt to persuade Germany international Mario Gotze, who he managed at Borussia Dortmund, to leave Bayern Munich. And he will get his man if the Anfield medical team give the green light on Monday, to continue a rebuilding programme that has already seen Joel Matip, Marko Grujic and Loris Karius arrive at the club.

Mane becomes the big capture of the summer for the Reds, with Klopp ready to make him the third most expensive signing in club history, to ensure he gets a player he tried to sign for Dortmund.
