The Maa community has been called upon to take a frontline role in the national movement to restore dignity, unity and justice in Kenya.
In a consultative meeting held at the Wamunyoro residence, over 500 grassroots mobilizers from the Maa community gathered to deliberate on their historical and current role in shaping the nation’s destiny.
Acknowledging the community’s deep-rooted contribution to Kenya’s liberation struggle, the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua emphasized the need for the Maa people to reclaim their space in national leadership and governance.
“The Maa community holds a special and vital place in our nation’s liberation history, and their leadership is crucial in shaping a brighter future for Kenya,” Gachagua stated.
The meeting focused on fostering unity, empowering communities, and mobilizing patriotic energy towards inclusive development and equitable governance. Participants were urged to rise above political divisions and work together to build a just and dignified society.
“I am honored to have consulted with over 500 Maa grassroots mobilizers in our Wamunyoro residence. Let us unite, harness our collective strength, and work tirelessly to build a Kenya where every citizen’s voice is heard and valued,” Rigathi added.
Reinforcing the theme of collective effort, the gathering recognized the role of all Kenyans in advancing national renewal, while placing special emphasis on the Maa community’s potential to champion transformative change.
“Together, we are committed to restoring the dignity of the Kenyan people, and I firmly believe that the Maa community must lead from the front in this movement,” Gachagua urged.
Grassroots leaders in attendance pledged their support for national unity efforts and affirmed their readiness to play a leading role in civic education, community development, and promoting peace and cohesion across the country.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to patriotism and shared responsibility.
“This is towards a great Kenya, liberated by all of us in a patriotic spirit. We remain undefatigable as a people,” the former DP declared.
The call serves as a strong reminder of the enduring power of grassroots leadership and the importance of honoring and activating historical communities in the ongoing journey toward a united and dignified Kenya.
