As Narok County Assembly entered in the list of the counties that have endorsed Building Bridges Initiative with all the 47 members agreeing unanimously to pass the document Maasai council of elder led by Narok north Chairman Matiko Ole Sadera thanked Narok county assembly MCAs for passing the BBI terming the move as a benefit to Narok residents where they will gain with three new constituencies and funds allocation from the National Government which will be increased saying the county will develop if this BBI referendum comes to pass.
Addressing media in Narok, Sadera said they are in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga for bringing this BBI and calls Narok residents not to be misguided by some politicians and call them to pass the BBI during referendum saying MCAs have shown residents the importance of this document and they need to follow their leaders steps and make sure they pass it during referendum.
His sentiment was echoed by Eunice Marima, Maasai Leader who said even if the BBI comes to pass they need to be allowed to add some views as the Maa community especially on the issue of resource sharing saying even if the BBI passes some counties will still suffer especially pastoralist counties since they wanted the funds to be allocated, one man one kilometer but called resident to pass it since they are seeing some benefits and support since the BBI has brought peace in the country and nobody should say BBI is not good to Kenyans.
She says BBI will bring peace and the violence that has been experienced after the General election will come to an end and called Kenyans to take the opportunity of this since BBI will move this country to another level.
