Machakos Assembly speaker Florence Mwangangi has said that there is need for formulation of a legislation which would see the county government of Machakos cushion children homes where vulnerable children live, as such children ought to be supported in order to gain confidence in life and grow into productive citizens. Madam Mwangangi who was speaking at Matuu Vision Centre Children home where she donated food stuffs and commissioned a pit latrine which had been constructed by a local businessman, said that even before such a legislation is put into place well wishers and able people especially business men ought to support the most vulnerable in the society.
Mwangangi said that just like other children in our homes, children living in children homes deserved to be shown love and be instilled with hope for a brighter future. Kyalo Nzyoka (Manyanga mutumba), a Matuu business man who had donated the latrine to the children home said that he had been touched by the situation of the poor children and that’s why he had committed the little he had to construct a latrine for the needy kids. He urged other Businessmen to also follow suit and help the needy in the society.
