Should Manchester City Be Crowned Premier League Champions This Early?

Is it about time we crowned Manchester City the champions of the English Premier League this early?

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League matches winning 17 and drawing 1.

They have beaten Chelsea’s record of winning 13 games in a row during the 2016 season.

The Citizens are 11 points clear of the second placed Manchester United.

This means if Manchester United is to catch up, the should win their next four fixtures and Manchester City should lose their next four fixtures.

How possible is this?

The next four fixtures for Manchester United are with Leicester City, Burnley FC, Southampton and  Everton.

United have struggled against Soton in the last two meetings winning one with a low margin of 1-0 and drawing the other. This is not a given win for United.

United have always prevailed against Leicester in all their recent meetings but their ace Riyyad mahrez is in good form and anything can happen.

In the last four meeting of Manchester United and Everton, they have drawn thrice and United have won once, the most recent meeting.

From the insight above, it is not that obvious that Manchester United can win the next four fixtures.

Manchester City will play Bournemouth, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Watford in the next four fixtures.

City has triumphed against these teams in the past fixtures and the second leg of the same will hardly pose a challenge.

The question is, who will stop Manchester City?
