A section of MCAs from Nyandarua County are mounting pressure on the senate to intervene and end the turf war between the Nyandarua County Assembly and the County executive. The MCAs led by Gatimu Ward MCA Kieru Wambui have said that the county has serious problems that need urgent interventions.
The long standing political fight between the two faction, one allied to Governor Francis Kimemia and another allied to embattled County Assembly speaker Ndegwa Wahome went a notch higher when MCAs allied to the governor led by leader of majority in the assembly, Wambugu King’ori initiated a move to impeach the speaker about two months ago.
Mr Kieru blamed the county’s top leadership for creating the wars and now want Senator Moses Kajwang led by the Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations committee to intervene saying the wars were hurting devolution and service delivery to the people of Nyandarua.
He also called on the Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka and Nyandarua Senator Mwangi Githiomi to ensure that the wrangles at the assembly had been solved.
Mr Kieru at the same time faulted the County Security committee for denying a section of workers at the county assembly access to the premises while at the same time allowing another section access to the premises.
He said that the committee had cited that the workers were posing a security threat at the assembly.
Last week governor Kimemia noted that the security committee had suspended workers at the assembly for two weeks following the frequent assembly fracas.
