All the MCAs unanimously adopted the bill as it was moved by chairperson Justice and legal affairs Edna Muisyo during a session chaired by Speaker Josiah Thiriku.
While tabling the bill Muisyo praised the bill saying that BBI will give a leeway to Embu residents to get development and the MCAs are not ready to deny the wananchi development.
While supporting the bill, Cecily Warue, nominated MCA said the increment of county allocation from 15% to 35 % would mean that many development projects would be realized.
Her counterpart Nominated MCA Lorna Kariuki said the bill may not be 100% perfect however it has many goodies which need to be grabbed.
Kariuki said Embu County will have an additional constituency and this will increase funds in the grass root level.
Newton Kariuki, MCA Mumenji said that the members of county assembly are not supporting the BBI because of the 2 million car grant but because of the goodies in the amendment.
During the debate, most appraisals for the amendment were due to increased allocation of 35% for counties.
While speaking to the press after the session, Governor Martin Wambora who had attended the session said he was impressed by the MCAs for overwhelmingly supporting the amendment.
Wambora said the MCAs have understood the benefit of the coming bill and have appealed to other political leaders in the county against the amendment to support it and move as a team.
Speaker Josiah Thiriku said the next step is to write to Speakers of the National assembly and Senate the decision of the County Assembly.
