Meru edition: another ‘James Bond’ clings on Raila’s chopper

Kenyans were once again stunned after a middle-aged man in Maua, Meru County decided to hang on a chopper that was carrying Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga.

The man swung up and sat on the chopper’s landing skids and held himself with one hand while waving to the crowds beneath.

He rode in the same position for not less than four minutes before the pilot landed at Athimba Primary School.

The same stunt was pulled last year by another from Bungoma who ended up sustaining serious injuries, and was later charged in a court of law for risking his life.

Muthacie Kabecere, the man behind the latest stunt went straight for the chopper as it was about to take off at Maili Tatu stadium in Maua.

Courageous enough, he held himself at the chopper rails with one hand and waved to the public.

Muthacie sustained back injuries as the pilot tried to land at Athimba primary school so he could ‘alight’.
