Missing Egypt Air Flight MS804

Egypt Air Flight MS804 today which was travelling from Paris to Egypt is reported to have disappeared while at 37,000 feet high within Egypt air space.  The disappearance from radar was reported by Ahmed Abdel, vice Chairman EgyptAir Holding Company.

“The Airbus A320 was flying at 37,000 feet when it disappeared shortly after entering Egyptian airspace,” the airline tweeted. It had 56 passengers on board and ten workers.

According to Ahmed Abdel, there was no special cargo on the plane and the search and rescue team has been deployed to search for the missing plane.

Earlier, an EgyptAir official told CNN a distress signal was received “from the vicinity” where the plane disappeared but could not confirm it came from the plane.

However, the Egyptian Armed Forces have released a statement denying reports that a distress signal was received from the plane.

Vice Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Ahmed Adel told CNN the distress signal could have come from another vessel in the Mediterranean.

“There is no confirmed information so far on the status of the missing EgyptAir plane,” Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail says, speaking to the press live on Egyptian state TV.

Egypt has suffered several plane disaster. Back in November 23, 1985, dozens of passengers were killed after gunmen hijacked EgyptAir Flight 648. Dozens of passengers were killed.

October 31, 1999 EgyptAir Flight 990 crashed into Atlantic killing 217 people on board. Investigators later concluded that the co-pilot deliberately cause that crash.

On October 31, 2015 another Egyptian airline crushed killing 224 people after Metrojet Flight downed in Sinai Peninsula. ISIS claimed the responsibility.
