Moi University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Kosgei, has appeared today before investigators at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) North Rift Regional Offices in Eldoret.

According to the commission, this summon is part of the ongoing investigations into alleged embezzlement of public funds and procurement irregularities linked to multiple infrastructural projects valued at KES 2.2 billion.

The investigation, which began in June 2024, seeks to uncover the misuse of public resources in the implementation of critical university projects.

“Following summons, Moi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Isaac Kosgei is currently before investigators at the Commission’s North Rift Regional Offices in Eldoret over the alleged embezzlement of public funds and procurement irregularities involving multiple infrastructural projects worth Kes2.2 billion,” stated EACC.

Professor Kosgei is the 59th individual to record a statement in connection with this high-profile probe.

The alleged malpractices include inflated project costs, irregular tendering processes, and failure to adhere to public procurement regulations.

In addition to Moi University, the EACC is undertaking investigations to include top officials at the University of Nairobi and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology over similar procurement and financial violations.
