More Suspects Arrested for Arson and Looting of CDF Offices in Kikuyu Constituency

Four more suspects linked to the arson incident where the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) offices were looted and torched in Kikuyu Constituency have been arrested and several recoveries were made from their houses.

This is according to the Director of Criminal Investigations who have further recovered assets that were stolen in the houses of the suspects.

“From the house of 28-yr-old Samuel Muiri Ruiyi who is a driver at a primary school in the Nderi area, a 32″ TV set was recovered, before he led the officers to his accomplice Samuel Wanjohi, 23, who was also in possession of another 32″ Sony TV belonging to the CDF offices,” Director of Criminal Investigations wrote on X.

From the operation by the DCI also a 16-yr-old form three boy from a Kabete school was among those arrested after he was captured on a CCTV footage disappearing with a Bluetooth speaker.

The DCI officers were able to recover the Bluetooth speaker.

In the Rironi area of Limuru, Paul Kuria Njenga, 23, was also arrested after he was seen stealing equipment that he later sold to unsuspecting buyers in Kitengela town.

The suspects pend arraignment at the Kiambu Law Court.

This operation started on July 1st 2024 when two suspects were arraigned before a Kiambu court for the offences of Arson and Malicious damage to property in the CDF offices.

Naftary David Njama Gatuota and Joseph Kuru Waweru were on that day accused of having taken part in the setting on fire of the Kikuyu NG-CDF offices valued at Sh20 million, malicious damage to property where they set on fire an NG-CDF vehicle valued at Sh2.5 million and also damaged the office of the Kikuyu Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner valued at Sh 600,000.

According to the report by the Director of Criminal Investigations the offences were committed on the 25th day of June, 2024.
