Moses Kuria and Kipchumba Murkomen among the Jubilee nominees for IEBC talks

A team of 12 members has been nominated from Jubilee side to meet CORD team as both parties seek to end the IEBC stalemate that has forced CORD to hold several demonstrations in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu IEBC offices.

The Jubilee team include Kipchumba murkomen, Fatuma Dullo Kiraitu Murungi , Runyenjes Mp Cecile Mbarire, Naomi Shaaban of Taveta, Beatrace Elachi, Jimmy Angwenyi of Kitutu Chache North, the outspoken Gatundu MP Moses Kuria, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s PA Jomo Gecaga, Eng Mohammed Mahmoud, Ben Washiali Mumias MP and Soipan Tuyak the Narok Women representative.

During his speech yesterday, just minutes before the Kenya budget was presented to the parliament by the CS Henry Rotich, the president promised to come up with the team that will meet CORD over IEBC after he acknowledged meeting church leaders.

“A joint committee of both Houses of Parliament will be set up in accordance with standing orders of both houses with keen mandate exclusively limited to the new matter of IEBC,” the president said during the speech.

“We expect that other initiatives by parliament will harmonize their work within framework of the joint select committee.”

CORD has been on the streets since last month protesting as they called upon all IEBC officials to voluntary vacate the office and vowed never to stop until the matter is solved.

During the demonstration some people were killed and others injured as police fired live bullets to the protesters.

On Wednesday 8th 2016, anti-CORD protests were organized with hundreds of people marching all the way to CORD offices were the dumbed burned vehicles.
