Francis Ndichu Kimani, a 24-year-old suspect, was apprehended for vandalizing parked motor vehicles of Kiamumbi residents. This is after giving the residents sleepless nights.

“After giving Kiamumbi residents sleepless nights by stealthily creeping perimeter fences and vandalizing their parked motor vehicles in the cover of darkness, the notorious suspect identified as Francis Ndichu Kimani, 24, was finally caught pants down,” read the statement from Directives of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Led by Officer Commanding Station (OCS), troops in Kiamumbi tactically positioned themselves at various points until 3.40 am when the lone bugler, Ndichu was spotted scaling the wall of a homestead.

The suspect later emerged holding the front grid and headlight of a Toyota Harrier that was skilfully striped from the homeowner’s car. He was netted and marched to the station.

The suspects are said to be stealthily creeping on the perimeter fences of the residents and deliberately damaging their vehicles.

Francis’s arrest led to further investigation operations.

“The arrest followed a sting of operation along Santiago Street, a spot s frequented by the enemies of progress that some motorists who dread vandalism of their cars either leave them a distance away at presumed safe areas, spend extra cash on Watchmen or sleep in the cars to keep watch themselves,” DCI wrote.

Following interrogation, the suspect provided valuable leads to accomplices and identified the market for the stolen parts.

Further investigations are underway to unravel the extent of the operation and bring all involved parties to justice.
