Mwala Member of Parliament (MP), Vincent Musyoka, wants police to speed up investigations relating to the East Africa Portland Cement Company (EAPC) land in Mavoko, Athi-River Sub-county.
Musyoka said police should apprehend the fraudsters and prosecute them, to ensure victims of the land scam get justice.
“Those found guilty should face the full force of the law and their assets should be recovered, to compensate families whose houses were demolished, “he said.
Speaking during a Sunday service at Kithangathini Catholic Church in Mwala Sub-county, the MP alleged that leaders in Machakos County opposed to the demolitions are among the people who duped innocent buyers into purchasing the land.
“Some of them were involved in the land fraud, they know themselves and they are guilty,” he revealed.
More than 25,000 people were affected after their houses and properties, were demolished in the disputed land belonging to the East Africa Portland Cement in Mavoko, which started on October 13.
