In a significant development, the National Assembly of Kenya has approved the appointment of two distinguished leaders to key government positions.
Ms. Beatrice Askul Moe has been approved as the new Cabinet Secretary for East African Community Affairs & Regional Development.
Her appointment is expected to bolster Kenya’s strategic role within the East African Community (EAC) and enhance regional cooperation and development.
Ms. Moe’s extensive experience in regional integration and development initiatives makes her well-suited to lead this critical ministry. Her leadership will be crucial in advancing Kenya’s interests within the EAC, particularly in trade, infrastructure development, and cross-border cooperation.
Additionally, the National Assembly has endorsed the appointment of Ms. Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor, SC, as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya.
Ms. Oduor, a seasoned legal professional with a distinguished career, brings a wealth of expertise to the Office of the Attorney General. Her appointment is seen as a vital step in strengthening the rule of law, enhancing legal reforms, and ensuring the delivery of justice in the country.
“The National Assembly has approved the appointment of Ms.Beatrice Askul Moe as the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community Affair & Regional Development, and Ms.Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor, SC, as the Attorney General of the Republic of Kenya,” stated the National Assembly.
On 30th July 2024, President Ruto nominated the two officials after his reshuffle of his Cabinet Secretaries.
