Mt Kenya East region will launch its own party by September 15, which will roll out members recruitment across the country. Former senator Lenny Kivuti who is poised to be one of the leaders of the party said despite the many parties that the larger Mt Kenya region has, Mt Kenya East will have its own party .He observed that he doesn’t support the idea of folding parties while maintaining there was a need for unity of the country. Kivuti who was speaking after meeting youths who also comprised University students, advised them to shun hate speech on social media. He observed that leaders should engage in issue based politics and avoid using the youths in smear campaigns.on their part

Jennifer Mukami, the vice chair of university’s president’s forum added they will engage with political leaders who are development conscious. She appealed to her fellow youths to avoid hate speech and ensure they registered as voters in order to take part fully in the 2022 general elections. Kasanga Nicholas
