Vincent said Maureen was taken to St Mary’s Hospital on Saturday morning but she died on the way.
“As a family, we accepted the fate and felt we should not disturb her classmates with funeral activities. We shall bring her body back home for burial on Saturday,” Vincent said.
Lureko Primary School head teacher George Ngaywa said the school had registered 96 candidates, but two died.
“Early in the year, we lost the index 81 candidate and on Saturday we lost another girl, index nine, who had prepared well for her exam,” Ngaywa said.
He said both girls complained of a headache shortly before they died. Ngaywa said the shaken candidates have been counselled.
