Murder Suspect Hashim Dagane Muhumed to Undergo Mental Assessment before Plea

Hashim Dagane Muhumed, also known as Hashim Mohamed Khalif, a suspect charged with the horrific murder of four women reportedly kidnapped from Eastleigh, appeared yesterday on 24th December 2024, before the High Court in Milimani.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions the prosecution team made an application before Lady Justice Hon. Lady Justice Diana Rachel Kavedza to defer the plea pending a mental assessment of the suspect.

In her ruling, the Honorable Kavedza granted the prosecution’s request, ordering that the suspect undergo a psychiatric evaluation. The findings of this assessment are to be submitted to the court prior to January 21, 2024, the date on which the suspect is expected to take a plea.

The ODPP further said that Hashim Dagane Muhumed Alias Hashim Mohamed Khalif is alleged to have killed Dahabo Daud Said Alias Waris, Amina Abdirashid Dhahir, Musayba Abdi Mohamed, and Deka Abdi Noor Gorane on diverse dates between 21st October 2024 and 30th October 2024, in the Kyumbi area of Machakos County, the Parklands area of Nairobi County, the Parklands area, and the Lavington area of Nairobi County, respectively.
