Muslim clerics in Malindi have condemned the deadly war between Israel and Palestine that has led to scores of deaths and massive destruction.
They said as Muslims they are opposed to the deadly attacks being spearheaded by the Israelites against the Palestine.
Led by Feiswal Alamoudy who was speaking during the Eid Ul fitr prayers at Jamia mosque in Malindi town he said its sad that powerful states like the USA were supporting Israel which is staging massive missile attacks against the Palestine.
He urged all Muslim faithful in the world to pray for Palestine who are going through difficult moments during this period of Eid.
Alamoudy spoke after the EID prayers that were led by Swaleh Muhdal of Jamia Mosque Malindi that was attended by hundreds of Muslim faithful to mark the end of Ramadhan.
The cleric hit out at the Somali terror Group Alshabaab for staging attacks in their home country and in Kenya and challenged them to join their fellow Muslims in Palestine in fighting against the Israelites if they were indeed their deeds are for the Islamic faith.
He said justice was not being done for the Palestine as so many powerful states were behind Israel including the USA and its allies.
“This issue is no secret everyone knows that Palestine is being victimized whether they like it or not as Muslims not only in Palestine but even in Kenya their religion must be respected, “he said.
Almoudy said the Muslims in Kenya have no capacity to go and defended the Palestine but if they were able, they could go and offer their support.
He thanked the government for ensuring peace prevails in Kenya saying there are other people who are suffering and cannot even come out of their homes to celebrate EID.
The cleric said its time the Al-Shabaab Militants show their Islamic faith and travel to safeguard Palestine if indeed they were religious.
He said what Al-Shabaab have been doing to stage attacks in Kenya is not acceptable as it is against Islam and called upon them to act and help their Muslim faithful in Palestine.
Renowned Kenyan lawyer George Kithi who is from Kilifi county was among those who joined the Muslim faithful in prayers at the Jamia mosque and also offered some goodies to help them celebrate Eid.
Kithi hailed all the stakeholders who were involved in the planning of the Eid celebrations particularly the Imams at Jamia mosque.
He said Islamic religion has always emphasized for leaders to remember those who are poor and ensure they support them.
“I Joined the Imams and other faithful in prayers to mark the end of Ramadhan and follow their teachings which insist on leaders to support the poor and vulnerable in the society,” he said.
Imam Yusuf Shosi from Jamia mosque also urged the Muslim faithful to continue observing the religious teachings and faith even after the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.
Shosi who is the Organizing Secretary of SUPKEM in Kilifi county said they are happy to have completed the month of Ramadhan safely.
“It’s important to continue having the good behaviors that we have been observing during the month of Ramadhan,” he said.
