NAROK ASSEMBLY READY TO PASS BBI TOMORROW AFTER A PUBLIC PARTICIPATION TODAY

Most of the members of the public who attended the public participation forum in Narok North Sub County have supported the document and pushed the Members of the county assembly to pass the bill as it brings more goodies in the county.

The residents who spoke today at the Narok North Youth Empowerment Hall today said the county will benefit from three more constituencies and 15 wards once the document is made law.

Youth leader, Ms. Prisca Nchoe said the document has numerous advantages to the pastoral community as the less fortunate families can easily access bursaries from the ward development fund that the document introduces.

The Narok County Assembly Minority leader, Kosiom Ole Lemurt, said the county assembly was ready to pass BBI report with or without the car grant.

Ole Lemputi said it is not about the MCAs welfare but about the future of this country, which is addressed in the BBI report.

He reiterated that Narok County wants to stand to be counted among the 24 county assemblies that will pass the document on the ‘Super Tuesday’.

His sentiment was echoed by Nominated Member of County Assembly Ms. Christine Lemain and Mary Njoki, the nominated MCAs said BBI is not about parties, but about the future of our country Kenya and they will pass the BBI tomorrow.

The public participation is taking place only two weeks after Governor Samuel Tunai asked the MCAs to pass the document saying it would enhance development in the grass roots.
