NAROK COUNTY GOVERNMENT UNVEILS 12.2 BILLION BUDGET

The Narok County government has unveiled a 12.2 billion shillings budget with great emphasis placed at reviving the tourism,agriculture,Infrastructure,health and education sectors that were hit hard during the corona virus pandemic.Narok CEC for finance,Julias Sasai who presented the 2021/2022 buget before Narok county assembly said the county government has put measures to ensure that the economy is revived for the sake of development.

Sasai pointed out that 33 percent of the 12.2 billion shillings have been allocated for personal monuments with 29 percent for operations and maintenance as development takes 38 percent of the budget.

The CEC said the county  has  allocated 31.1 percent to the  health sector .800 million has been set aside for the fight against Covid 19 emergency response,217 million for drugs,50 million shillings for non pharmaceutical items and 153 for maintenance of medical equipment.

The CEC noted that 150 million shillings has been set aside to boost the recovery of tourism at the Maasai Mara game reserve despite the national government allocating 1.7 billion shillings for tourism at the National budget.
