National Assembly to Consider Supplementary Appropriation (No.2) Bill 2024

The National Assembly will resume on Tuesday afternoon 30th July 2024.

Parliament will be expected to consider the reading of the supplementary appropriation bill and debate on various important motions.

According to the statement by Parliament, the House is expected to consider the First and Second Reading of the Supplementary Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2024 sponsored by Chairperson, Budget and Appropriations Committee, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro.

“The Supplementary Appropriation Bill, 2024 makes provision for giving statutory sanction for public expenditure for the year ending on the 30th June 2024, based on the Supplementary II Estimates of Expenditure 2023/24 (Recurrent) and the Supplementary II Estimates of Expenditure 2023/24 (Development) and for the appropriation of those amounts,” read the statement.

The National Assembly Bill, 2024 under Kenya Gazette Supplement No.145 an Act of parliament to authorize the issue of a certain sum of money out of the Consolidated Fund and their applications towards the service of the year ending on the 30th June 2025 and to appropriate those sums for certain public services and purposes enacted by Parliament of Kenya as this Act may be cited as the Supplementary Appropriation (No. 2) Act, 2024 and shall come into force upon publication in the Gazette.

Additionally, the debate will also be undertaken on different motions including Reports of the Auditor-General on the National Government Constituencies Development Fund for nine Constituencies in Bungoma County, a Report on consideration of a public petition on funds spent contrary to the provisions of Article 223 of the Constitution, Report on consideration of the Audited Accounts of Specified State Corporations and Report on enhancing reporting of Parliamentary business on online platforms.
