Hillary Mutyambai has taken over as the new inspector-general of police in a swearing in ceremony at the Supreme Court .Mutyambai said the police will play their role in the ongoing war against corruption. The immediate former IG Joseph Boinett also took oath of office as the chief administrative secretary in the ministry of tourism.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Supreme Court in Nairobi, the new inspector general affirmed his commitment to security and safety to all Kenyans. In an inclusive approach, Mutyambai has promised to work closely with all security agencies to ensure justice is delivered to all Kenyans.
Mutyambai put on notice all rogue police officers saying that police have the right to discharge their duties firmly and fairly, and that those who break the law will be served with justice accordingly.
In his address, Mutyambai said that during his tenure, he will tackle a myriad off issues within the service including management of police welfare, community policing and public partnerships.
The Inspector General has painted a picture of confidence amongst high expectant Kenyans who hope he will put an end to the culture of extra-judicial killings and forced disappearances.
On police reforms, Mutyambai committed to carry on with what his predecessor joseph Boinett started saying his focus will be on transforming police stations, to a center of delivery for policing.
Meanwhile, the immediate former Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet has also today been sworn as the tourism and wildlife chief administrative secretary in a ceremony that was attended by deputy president William Ruto and presided over by head of public service Joseph Kinyua.
