Ngilu complains of pathetic situation at Kitui hospital

Former Lands Cabinet Secretary and aspiring governor for Kitui County Charity Ngilu today visited Kitui General hospital and expressed her displeasure with the condition of the hospital.

Ngilu said that the hospital had over 50 television sets but it was shocking that there were no enough drugs and neither water in the hospital.

This came just a  few hours after Governors Jack Ranguma of Kisumu, Paul Chepkwony of Kericho and Kinuthia Mbugua of Nakuru yesterday defended county governments from allegations of mismanaging the health dockets in their devolved units.

Ranguma said that light issues within the health sector at the counties do not translate to a conclusion that the devolved systems have failed in their mandate adding that devolution is working positively.

“The county and national governments are both playing their respective roles to ensure Kenyans have access to quality healthcare services,” Ranguma said during the summit
