Kitui governor Charity Ngilu has slammed Deputy president William Ruto, terming him as a huge hindrance to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda due to his overwhelming political ambition.
Speaking at Nzalae area in Mwingi west constituency where she launched a land demarcation exercise for the over 50 years old farmers ranch, governor Ngilu said that instead of the deputy president assisting his boss in implementing their party manifesto he has been politicking since they took office in 2013.
“Instead of helping the president in undertaking development, his commitment has been to politicking ever since they were elected into office way back in 2013. This kind of behavior must stop,” said governor Ngilu.
Madam Ngilu, also criticized Mr. Ruto’s hustler nation narrative and issuance of wheelbarrows to Kenyan youths, saying that only through implementation of the BBI report Kenyans can benefit substantially.
“At this era, what Kenyan people need more is nothing like wheelbarrows. Kenyans are in dire need of real development which can only be actualized through the BBI which the deputy president has been opposing in disguise,” added the governor.
The governor urged Kitui residents to support the BBI referendum, as more money to the counties, would mean more development for residents.
