NGO’s drawn from Machakos and Kajiado counties joined together to mark the International Women’s Day with a visit to Mavoko primary school.
In a statement issued by Scolasticar Makungu, the director of Deborah International Outreach the organisations pleaded with courts to review the bond terms in defilement related cases.
The NGO’s also pledged to begin awareness programmes aimed at touring both primary and secondary schools to educate young girl’s on effects of early pregnancy and early marriages.
Ms Makungu hinted that the NGO’S will petition the National Assembly to provide lawyer’s to pursue defilement related cases.
Muia Francis, the NGO’s chairman said that the government should stand firm and protect the girl child.
Over 1000 sanitary towels were distributed to the female learner’s in the school.
