Nick Ruto urges Government to promote sport to curb drug abuse

Deputy president William Ruto’s eldest son, Nick Ruto has urged the Government to partner with corporates and individuals to promote sports as a solution to the drugs abuse crisis in the coast region.

The younger Ruto also called for the diversification of sporting activities in the region to include athletics saying that they present an opportunity for the youth to earn a living. He added that Kenyan youth can transform the country into a vibrant economic giant with government’s support.

Nick spoke at Kwa Jomvu Primary School during the Mohamed CPK Cup, a volleyball tourney sponsored by Mohamed Abdalla, businessman cum  politician. Nick had initially indicated that he was at the coast to connect with the youth and friends. He is said to be interested in the Turbo parliamentary seat in 2022, hence his early bid to woo the youth. The area was once represented by his father.
