Nominated Cabinet Secretary’s Gratitude Messages

The President nominated a second batch of cabinet secretaries on Wednesday afternoon during a press briefing at Statehouse, Nairobi.

The recently nominated Cabinet Secretaries could not contain their joy after getting nominated to head various ministries.

John Mbadi, a Nominated MP and ODM party chairman, has been nominated as the CS for the National Treasury and Economic Planning Ministry. He went on X to express his gratitude to the President for the appointment.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank God, Baba Raila Odinga for the opportunity to serve Kenyans. I promise to work diligently. So help me God,” expressed Mbadi on X.

“I am honored & deeply grateful to be appointed as the CS for Treasury. I look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to drive economic growth, ensure fiscal responsibility, and promote financial stability. Thank you for the trust and support,” the nominated CS added.

Mbadi further added that as the new Cabinet Secretary for Treasury, he recognizes the pressing budgeting and fiscal challenges Kenya faces. His focus would be on implementing robust financial strategies to address these issues, enhance fiscal discipline, and foster sustainable economic growth.

“I am committed to managing Kenya’s resources with utmost prudence. We will focus on transparency, efficiency, and strategic investment to ensure sustainable growth and fiscal stability for a better future for Kenyans and Gen Z,” John Mbadi assured.

“I forgot to thank President William Ruto. Thank you for trusting ODM, that’s the place where you horned your leadership skills. We will make Kenya great again. President Ruto will deliver and Kenyans will be happy. As Cabinet Secretary for Treasury, I am committed to realigning ODMs economic strategies to implement the Bottom-Up Economic Model,” the nominated CS Treasury expressed on X.

The county government of Homa Bay congratulated John Mbadi for the nomination.

“Congratulations CPA John Mbadi following your nomination as Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning. Homa Bay is elated!” the County Government of Homa Bay wrote on X.

Opiyo Wandayi, the National Assembly Minority leader and the current MP of the Ugunja constituency has been nominated for the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. He expressed his gratitude via X.

“Thank you, President William Ruto for nominating me to the position of CS, Energy and Petroleum. It will be a great honor and privilege to serve my country in this new capacity if I secure the approval of the National Assembly. My gratitude to Baba Raila Odinga for his enduring mentorship and tutelage,” expressed Opiyo Wandayi.

Hassan Joho was appointed to the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

“It is with great humility and profound appreciation that I accept my nomination by H.E President William Ruto for the position of Cabinet Secretary of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs,” wrote Joho on X.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the Almighty Allah (SWT) for this opportunity to once again serve the great people of Kenya in a different capacity. Upon confirmation, I look forward to working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the Blue Economy, Mining and Maritime sectors take a leading role in the socio-economic transformation of our nation,” added the nominated Mining CS.

Kipchumba Murkomen, the former Transport CS, has been nominated to lead the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports. He also expressed gratitude for his nomination.

“Honoured and grateful to have been nominated by H.E. President William Ruto as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports. Thank you, Mr. President, for this incredible opportunity to serve our great nation, Kenya,” expressed Murkomen.

Murkomen further apologized to Kenyans who felt offended by his words, deeds and conduct in the last two years as a public servant.

“The last two weeks have been moments of deep reflection. I would like to unreservedly apologise to every Kenyan who I may have offended through my words, my deeds and my conduct, including my lifestyle, in the last two years of my public service. Subject to my approval by Parliament, I pledge to serve the people of Kenya diligently, with great humility and unwavering accountability. Thank you very much. God bless you and God bless Kenya,” nominated CS Murkomen apologized.

Rebecca Miano, who was initially reappointed as the Attorney-General nominee last week, has been assigned to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and also went on X to express gratitude.

“I’m glad to have the honour, privilege and opportunity to serve my fellow countrymen and women, if parliament approves. I sincerely thank H.E. President Dr. William Ruto for granting me a fresh lease in Public Service,” incoming CS Miano expressed.

Alfred Mutua, the former Tourism CS, has been given the Labour and Social Protection docket. He also thanked the President for the appointment.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to H.E President Dr. William Ruto for nominating me to serve as Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. Upon vetting and clearance by Parliament, I am eager and determined to work with vigour and dedication for the people of Kenya, contributing to the nation’s development, wealth creation, and overall well-being. Mbele iko sawa,” Mutua expressed on X.
