Police officers from Molo Police Station arrested a notorious criminal and recovered suspected stolen property during a routine patrol in Molo Sub-County, Nakuru County.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), at approximately 5:00 PM, the officers were on patrol within the Keep Left area when they spotted two unregistered motorcycles. Each of the motorcycles was carrying a green sack containing unidentified items, raising immediate suspicion.
The officers promptly pursued the riders. During the chase, they managed to intercept one of the suspects, while the second escaped by fleeing towards the Mutirithia area, abandoning his motorcycle in the process.
“The arrested suspect is a known criminal with a history of prior convictions and acquittals at the Molo Law Courts,” stated the NPS.
Upon inspecting the sacks recovered from the motorcycles, officers discovered nine assorted 6kg gas cylinders believed to have been stolen. Investigations further revealed that both motorcycles had their frame numbers tampered with and completely erased, an indication of an attempt to conceal their identity and ownership.
“The suspect was taken into custody at Molo Police Station, where he remains detained pending arraignment today,” NPS added.
