In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters arrested two notorious drug traffickers in Donholm, Nairobi.

The suspects, Teresia Nduku, a Kenyan, and Simba Kitwana Khamri, a Tanzanian national, were apprehended in a well-coordinated operation by law enforcement.

After their arrest, the suspects themselves led detectives to their residence in Manyanzani, Tala Kangundo Sub-County.

After a thorough search was conducted in their home, a backpack was revealed with a cunningly concealed compartment housing cannabis sativa as well as a digital scale and several incriminating documents for the suspects.

Investigators discovered that the seized cannabis sativa was of a unique type that originated from foreign lands and infiltrated Kenya via the Namanga border.

Intelligence reports further revealed that Simba Kitwana Khamri was a maestro in skillful packaging and disguising the illicit drug in backpacks for distribution to consumers worldwide.

“The street value of just 1 gram of this particular cannabis strain is estimated at Ksh 8,000”, noted an investigative police report.

Although law enforcement indicated that further analysis would be conducted to unravel its distinctiveness.

Both suspects are now in lawful custody as authorities process them ahead of their prosecution. Law enforcement has assured the public that the traffickers will face the full force of the law as the case moves forward.

As one of the suspects was established as a Tanzanian and the cannabis sativa came through the Namanga border, it is believed that there may be cross-border collaboration with Tanzanian authorities to further investigate the trafficking network.

Authorities plan to continue with the scientific analysis of the unique strain of cannabis sativa that was found with the hopes of confirming its origins, potency, and street value, which would be crucial to build a court case against the suspects.
