NYANDARUA COUNTY LEADS IN MARKING INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

Nyandarua County, on 11th of August 2018, marked the International Youth Day in a special way by issuing  merchandise that will directly help the Youth improve their status quo.

In a statement on their official Facebook Page, Nyandarua County Government ,documented that His Excellency Governor Francis Kimemia  issued 12 greenhouses; 6 concrete mixers; 24 culvert molds; 25 welding machines; 25 incubators each with a capacity of 528 eggs and a backup generator; 10 hi-tech knitting machines; 50 singer sewing machines; 50 full package salon equipment and 50 high pressure car wash machines to youth in each of our 25 wards.

Governor Francis Kimemia also handed over 100 certificates of incorporation (C12 certificates) to various youth companies that the County Government has helped to register, in line with his commitment to help transform youth-based Community Based Organizations into companies.

In the event at Ol’Kalou Stadium, he urged young people to prioritize initiatives to support each other in wealth creation and providing lasting solutions to challenges that face people from Nyandarua County.

The Governor said that his government will continue supporting policies and practices that will aid in the transformation witnessed among our young people, including livestock production, marketing, sports, livelihoods diversification and knowledge management among other programs.

He further said that he looks forward to working with individuals and organizations that are engaged in positively benefiting young people.

The Governor later handed over Nyandarua’s flag to the County team that is participating in the Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) games, which start today  in Kisii County.
