One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has now moved in to spread its wings to leaders from Central Kenya and Coast in a bid to clinch their 2022 general elections. The alliance exuded confidence that it would get more leaders noting that they were ready to work with ODM leader Raila Odinga. Speaking after arriving in Naivasha for the Alliance meeting, four principals said that they were stretching their arms to like minded leaders. Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula said that alliance had made admirers who were keen to join them in their discussions. “We have had many with different leaders and we are reaching out to our counterparts in Central and Coast,” he said.
On his part, WIPER leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that they were meeting with their MPs and Senators to plan for the way forward. “We shall be issuing a statement on the way forward on Tuesday after meeting the technical committee,” he said. ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi said that they would be discussing the alliance strength and weakness during the workshop. “All the alliance principals have arrived in the meeting which deliberate on several issues that are meant to unite the country,,” he said. Others present were KANU Chairman Gideon Moi and Kieni Mp Kanini Kega.
This came as the alliance Mps lashed out at their ODM Kenya counterparts over their plans to impeach IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati. The MPs who are meeting in Naivasha alleged foul play in the plan barely one year before the general elections. Addressing the press at the side-lines of the meeting, the Mps dared ODM to bring the impeachment motion in Parliament. According to Kimilili Mp Chris Wamalwa, the move had caught them by surprise and they were ready for the latest move. He said that the new move was ridden with malice adding that Chebukati had done a tremendous job in various by-elections. “We are aware of the plot by ODM to impeach IEBC Chairman and we are not taking this kindly and were ready for them in Parliament,” said the Ford Kenya Mp This was echoed by his Matungula MP Stephen Mule who accused the ODM Mps of been cheeky and playing politics. “We are daring ODM to bring in the petition or to shape up or ship out as we are tired of their dirty game,” he said.
