CONOR McGregor and Floyd Mayweather face off one last time before their megafight at Saturday morning’s (AEST) official weigh-in in Las Vegas.
The weigh-in will take place at the T-Mobile Arena, the same venue as the fight, and it’s expected to draw a huge crowd.
There are sure to be more verbal barbs traded between the pair but most interest will centre on the fighters hitting when the fighter hit the scales.
Boxing legend Mayweather earlier this week suggested McGregor was “extremely heavy” and would struggle to make the 154-pound (69.85kg) light middleweight limit for the fight. However the UFC emphatically denied there would be a problem.
“I’ve never missed weight in my life and it won’t be happening this time,” McGregor said. “I’ve had my nutritionist practically living with me throughout camp.”
While the fight will go ahead even if one of the fighters misses weight, they face a fine and losing a huge cut — likely millions of dollars — of the purse.
Mayweather continues to taunt his opponent over the issue, insisting he’s not risk of missing weight.
“I’m ready,” he said. “He (McGregor) better be trying to get his weight down … I know he’s over right now. Me? I weigh like 153, 152 (pounds). I don’t have to worry about it. I can eat a Big Mac, eat a Whopper, probably even pizza.”
START TIME & HOW TO WATCH
The weigh-in is scheduled for begin at 8am AEST but, given these fighters’ track record of punctuality, don’t be surprised if it starts a little later.
