Ozil’s Outrageous Wage Expectations

Barcelona are preparing a bid for Arsenal’s midfielder Mesut Ozil this coming January.

The German has his own expectations on the package that is enough for him to leave Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil wants Barcelona to pay him €370,000 (£330k) a week.

The Arsenal playmaker has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp after reports emerged that Arsene Wenger is willing to let the German leave in January as opposed to joining Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer.

Barcelona appear to be at the head of the queue, but it remains to be seen if they will agree to the former Real Madrid star’s wage demands.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is prepared to axe several of the club’s under-performing players.

Real romped to a comprehensive 6-0 win over APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday night but Perez remains unhappy with the performance levels of some of the first team.

While his patience is wearing wafer thin with Gareth Bale’s persistent injuries, long-time Arsenal transfer target Karim Benzema, Lucas Vasquez and Marcos Llorente are also facing the chop at the Bernabeu.

Eden Hazard says he will decide his Chelsea future at the end of the season.

The Belgian is a long-time Real Madrid target but has insisted that he will leave Stamford Bridge when he believes the time is right, while admitting that he is waiting to see “what happens” this season. “The moment to leave will be when I want to leave,” the 26-year-old said.

“I want to finish this year and then we will see what happens. Everybody knows the admiration that I have for Real Madrid.”
