Children under five years of age in Machakos County will receive polio injection services starting from tomorrow, 17th of July, the wake of the new week. This is the second time that the launching is taking place. The second dose of the campaign in just less than a month’s time takes place 17th until 21st July, Machakos County has envisaged the plan to inform and announce the campaign to the residents of the county about polio.
This is due to the fundamental outbreak reporting of polio presence in Garissa and Mombasa. In the first campaign, Machakos reported a target of 97%of children immunization being achieved, resuscitating hope of the future 100% expectations.
Machakos county Health CEC Dr. Ancent Kituku urged those living in the gated communities to allow the tasked team to reach out to the children with ease as the challenges that they went through during the first campaign was atrocious and hard.The health officer in charge of this campaign Dr. Lucas Mwove promised the residents of the safety of the injection campaign.
