Two sons have been arrested for allegedly killing their father at Raganga village in Kitutu Chache South Sub County.
Their arrest followed a post mortem examination which revealed Chrisantus Otwori (69) was murdered.
The deceased had gone missing before his body was found mutilated and dumped in a family borehole next to his house.
Mary Moraa,a daughter to the deceased said she had left home in the morning accompanied by her siblings to pick tea leaves but upon return they could not find their father.
Suspicious of the presence of a water drawing container and some clothes, Moraa decided to peep into the family borehole where she saw her father’s disfigured body.
According to the daughter her there had been a protracted dispute between her father and her two brothers.
The body was later removed to a mortuary in Kisii town with Moraa on behalf of the family petitioning the authorities to ensure justice was done.
Elisha Omare,a neighbor condemned the killing saying the sons were duty bound to respect their father who bore a heavy parental responsibility on them since childhood.
Kisii county commander, Francis Kooli confirmed the incident initially suspected to have been attributed to drowning.
He decried prevalence of similar incidents in the area and urged residents to be on the lookout and report to the government for early signs in family feuds before they degenerated to murders.
