POLICE GUN DOWN THREE ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN JUJA, KIAMBU COUNTY

Detectives in Juja today shot and killed three suspected robbers at Witeithie village of Kiambu County.

The three are reported to have been on the police radar and have been terrorizing members of the public in various parts of Kiambu and Nairobi counties.

According to Kiambu County police commander Ali Nuno, the three were intercepted in an attempted robbery mission which was to take place at an M-pesa shop at the sprawling village.

The three-armed gangsters, two of who are from Dandora in Nairobi while the other is from Witeithie are said to have been terrorizing the public at Witeithie, Juja Farm, Dandora and Pangani areas.The three are said to have been using a motorbike as their means of movement from one area to another to commit crimes.

Police who managed to recover a ceska pistol with three rounds of ammunition, two knives, several phones and a motorbike they were using for movement said they have been monitoring the gangster’s communication which helped them to thwart the burglary mission.

On Sunday, the youthful gangsters aged between 25 and 30 years are reported to have shot a lady at Pangani area of Nairobi and were to commit another robbery at Witeithie village on Monday but unfortunately the man in possession of the firearm did not show up.

Today, the gangsters were challenged and fired seven rounds at the police but police managed to subdue them fatally injuring all of them.

The county police boss revealed that detectives have commenced investigations to establish the people that the criminals have been communicating with at the village.

Nuno warned criminals to surrender their firearms to police and stop engaging in crimes, failure to which they will be accorded a similar show.

He specifically told youths to look for alternative and legal sources of livelihood to avoid premature deaths occasioned by their criminality.
