Japheth Koome,the chief police boss during the first protest said that no demonstrations will be allowed to take place.Although CORD had planned demonstrations to take place every Monday til IEBC officials quit office,this was postponed following the demise of Mama Lucy Kibaki who was laid to rest at Othaya on Saturday.
This has resulted to deployment of heavy machines to cast IEBC out of the office.The first protests were not received positively by police who fired teargas to CORD leaders. However, the anti-IEBC protesters vowed to continue with their protests.
Later after the incidence, some Jubilee members of Parliament went to court to stop CORD from continuing with the protest, which was granted, but the team said it was exercising their democracy.
The president, Uhuru Kenyatta, who commented on the matter said that there are laid down strategies to remove the IEBC from power constitutionally.
