President Uhuru Kenyatta has conveyed his congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In his message, he said the election victory is a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence the people of Nigeria have in Buhari’s ability to lead the country to greater heights.
“Kenya and Nigeria enjoy longstanding cordial relations and a strong cooperation in many areas. I look forward to continue working closely with Your Excellency to in consolidating these mutually beneficial areas of cooperation for the greater good of our two countries,” Kenyatta added.
Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Buhari the winner of the highly contested election Wednesday morning after ganering the highest number of votes. He was re-elected for a second four year term after defeating former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
