President William Ruto arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, on Friday to attend the 2024 annual Africa CEO Forum.
State House announced that President Ruto is scheduled to meet with prominent investors to discuss potential areas of collaboration.
During his stay, Ruto is scheduled for multiple engagements, including a high-level meeting with investors, participation in a presidential panel and an interview with the United Kingdom’s ‘Financial Times’.
The President has once again emphasized the need for climate action, supported by contributions from wealthy nations.
He also stressed the importance of reforming the global financial system to alleviate Africa’s debt burden, along with advocating for change with the African Union to represent Africa’s interests better.
These topics are expected to be significant points of discussion during his upcoming State Visit with US President Joe Biden.
Over 2,000 decision-makers from both the public and private sectors, including more than 900 CEOs are attending the forum.
The forum aims to generate actionable solutions that will accelerate Africa’s progress and prosperity.
Notable attendees include Wamkele Mene, General Secretary of the AfCFTA, Makhtar Fiop, Managing Director of the IFC and various heads of state and business leaders from across the continent.
The Africa CEO Forum, founded in 2012, has established itself as the premier gathering for Africa’s top executives and global investors, fostering high-level dialogue and partnerships that are crucial for the continent’s development.
The annual gathering of African CEOs is being held in Rwanda on May 16th and 17th this year.
