In his move to strengthen governance and accountability across various sectors in his administration, President William Ruto has announced new nominations for chairpersons and members of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), and the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC).
In his appointment, President Ruto has nominated Mr.Ahmed Issack Hassan as the chairperson of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).
Mr Hassan is a former and inaugural chairperson of independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Additionally, he has nominated Gerald Nyaoma Arita candidate for the position of Second Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
Mr Charles Orinda Dulo an experienced advocate of the High Court of Kenya is the nominee for chairperson position of the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ)
Among other chairpersons nominated are Rehema Dida Jaldesa, Sammy Chepkwony nominees for National Gender and Equality Commission and the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
The nominees, who bring a wealth of experience from diverse fields, are anticipated to further the government’s commitment to enhancing accountability and equality in Kenya.
The nominees are set to undergo a vetting process by the relevant parliamentary committees groups to assess their qualifications and suitability for their roles.
Upon approval, they will assume their respective roles, where they will play pivotal parts in steering key commissions and the CBK toward achieving their mandates.
This move comes as part of the administration’s broader commitment to bolster Kenya’s institutional frameworks, ensuring quality service delivery to the citizens.
