President Ruto Responds to Affordable Housing Project Allegations

President William Ruto on Tuesday officially handed over the first set of 1,080 units in the Mukuru Affordable Housing project, with the majority of the units being bedsitters.

He added that the programme aims to restore dignity for millions of Kenyans living in informal settlements by providing decent housing with proper infrastructure.

“At first, they claimed the Housing Levy would be the downfall of this administration. When that narrative failed, they insisted that no houses would ever be built. When the houses began to take shape, they shifted to say only the well-connected would benefit,” said the Head of State.

“Now, seeing Kenyans receiving homes, they allege that these are projects of the previous regime. And when even that fails, they resort to denying the reality, claiming that the beneficiaries are not genuine,” added President Ruto.

“Let us be clear: the government remains committed to delivering affordable housing to the people of Kenya. The facts are visible; the progress is undeniable. Instead of clinging to ever-changing falsehoods, I urge critics to join hands in building a better future for all Kenyans,” noted President Ruto.

“Truth does not need to change. Lies, however, require constant reinvention,” said President Ruto.
