President Ruto Urges NDU-K Graduates To Tackle Emerging Threats

The National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K) has reaffirmed its pivotal role in advancing national and regional security.

Speaking during the event, President William Ruto, urged the University to embrace  adaptive and innovative approaches to security challenges including climate change disaster.

“The global security landscape is fast-changing in the wake of the adaptation of multifaceted, complex and high-tech technologies,” noted President Ruto.

“I urge the university to explore collaboration with county governments as a means to strengthen the preparedness and effectiveness of crisis response mechanisms nationwide, with a particular focus on addressing climate-related disasters,” President Ruto noted.

The head of state noted that the security lies on the hands of the citizens highlighting the need for collaborative efforts by the graduates to promote mutual respect.

‘‘Kenya’s security depends on the strength of our collaborative frameworks with regional neighbours and global allies. Fostering dynamic and responsive partnership frameworks that promote mutual respect, shared security, and inclusive prosperity calls for strategic capacity that I urge you to develop,” added the President.

The institution, located in Lanet, Nakuru County, hosted its second graduation ceremony, celebrating a new cohort of graduates trained in defence, security, and strategic studies.

NDU-K’s investment in specialized training reaffirms its status as a premier institution for fostering intellectual excellence in defence and security.
