Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi earlier today arrived in Uganda for the second session of the Joint Uganda-Kenya Ministerial Commission.
Mudavadi was received at Entebbe International Airport by the Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, Hon. John Mulimba, along with other high-ranking Ugandan officials.
Kenya and Uganda held the second session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Kampala, Uganda, from May 12 to May 14, 2024.
This interaction signifies the strong fraternal ties between the two sister countries and serves as a solid example of their commitment to further deepening their relationship.
Musalia in his speech highlighted Kenya’s important role in global diplomacy and urged them to build on this strong foundation to achieve even greater success.
The discussions focused on the ongoing cooperation in various sectors including security, trade and investment, agriculture, education, health, tourism, capacity development, and transport, among others.
Amb. Dennis Mburu, Director of Africa Affairs, who headed the Kenyan delegation on behalf of Dr. Korir Singoei, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Foreign Affairs, praised the technical teams from both countries for their exemplary efforts.
“This commitment reflects the cooperative spirit that has guided the bilateral relations between Kenya and Uganda which dates back to pre-independence,” stated Amb. Mburu.
Ambassador Mburu reaffirmed the statement made by the Prime Cs regarding Kenya’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Uganda through regular consultations, aiming to fulfil the aspirations of both nations at bilateral, regional, and international levels.
The discussions will be concluded with the signing of MOUs by the Foreign Ministers of Kenya and Uganda. Subsequently, H.E. Yoweri Museveni will embark on a State Visit to Kenya from May 15th to 17th, 2024.
