Property developers assured of fast processing of transactions

Lands and Physical Planning Cabinet Secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi has assured Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA) that the Government is working to ensure that land services are delivered on time.

Prof Kaimenyi spoke when he received KPDA officials led by their Chairman Muchai Kunyiha at Ardhi House, to discuss issues that touch on both the Ministry and the Association.

The lands CS concurred with the association that there is an urgent need to establish a special desk at Ardhi House and other lands offices centres countrywide to hasten transactions for large scale property development. Prof Kaimenyi urged the association to adopt the best practices while discharging their duties

Mr Kunyiha said the association had embraced the Geo-referencing, the description of property boundaries with more certainty and accuracy than before in line with the Land Act 2012 and Land Registration Act 2012. He lamented that delays in both acquisition of title deeds and slow pace of registration was a hindrance to property development.

The Association, however, commended the Ministry for fast tracking valuation services.
