On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Ms. Mary Muthoni, the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, visited Revital Healthcare (EPZ) Ltd located in Kilifi County. This visit reinforced the Kenya Kwanza administration’s dedication to promoting local manufacturing as a fundamental component of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The visit is a direct response to the Kenya Health Facility Census, which revealed deficiencies in medical supplies at the primary healthcare level.

The Ministry of Health asserts that supporting local manufacturers such as Revital represents a strategic initiative aimed at providing affordable, high-quality healthcare solutions and enhancing the resilience of Kenya’s supply chain.

“Strengthening local manufacturing reduces costs, enhances supply chain resilience, and creates jobs. Revital Healthcare exemplifies how Kenyan innovation is driving both health and economic transformation,” the PS stated.

She also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to regulatory support, public procurement incentives, and expanding export markets to boost local production.

The Ministry highlighted that Health products and technologies remain central to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), ensuring every Kenyan has access to essential medical supplies when and where they need them.
