PS Omollo Conducts Final Inspection Of Kwale Stadium Ahead Of Mashujaa Day

In preparation for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations,Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo led the National Celebrations Steering Committee in a thorough inspection of Kwale Stadium.

The inspection aimed to ensure that all preparations are on track for the successful hosting of the mashujaa day, which honors Kenya’s heroes and heroines.

Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani joined the inspection, along with key government officials, including Principal Secretary for Devolution, Ms. Teresia Mbaika; Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua; Principal Secretary for Public Works, Mr. Joel Arumonyang; and Deputy Government Spokesperson, Mwanaisha Chidzuga.

The team assessed the stadium’s readiness, focusing on essential infrastructure, security arrangements, crowd management plans, and accessibility to ensure that Kwale is fully prepared to host the thousands of attendees expected for Mashujaa Day.

The committee also reviewed ongoing improvements and upgrades to the stadium, designed to enhance the overall experience for both participants and spectators.

Mwanaisha Chidzunga expressed her confindence in the County’s preparation in the celebrations of Mashujaa Day.

“Kwale is ready for Mashujaa Day. The stadium that will host this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20, 2024, as well as the State Lodge, are 70 % complete,”said Chidzunga.

According to the ministry f or interior, Kenya’s Affordable Housing Programme, with its related building and construction, will be showcased during the event providing a platform to highlight the progress and impact of the Government’s efforts in meeting citizens’ housing needs and stimulating economic growth.

The celebrations will be marked on Sunday, October 20, 2024. The theme of this year’s Mashujaa Day is affordable housing, a priority project of President William Ruto.

As the countdown to Mashujaa Day continues, the National Celebrations Steering Committee will remain actively engaged with Kwale County officials to finalize all preparations and address any emerging needs to ensure a successful and memorable event.
