PSC Appoints Mr. Paul Famba As The Secretary/CEO

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Mr. Paul Famba as the Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Commission.

In a press release by PSC, the newly appointed Secretary and CEO will serve for a five-year term with effect from 1st August 2024.

“The Public Service Commission has appointed Mr. Paul Famba as the Secretary /Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Commission for a period of five years with effect from 1st August 2024,” read the statement from PSC in part.

According to the PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri, the exercise was conducted in accordance with the law under section 15(2) of the Public Service Commission Act.

Mr.Famba is set to replace Dr. Simon Rotich whose tenure as Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the PSC comes to an end in July 202.

PSC stated that the appointed CEO will bring a wealth of experience due to his service in senior positions in the government.

“The incoming CEO brings to the Commission a wealth of experience as a career administrator, having served in senior positions in the Government as Assistant County Commissioner, State Protocol Officer, Deputy County Commissioner and Director of Administration,” noted PSC.

“In recognition of his outstanding service to the nation, he was awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) and Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya (OGW) BY His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya,” the statement read in part.

Mr. Famba is currently the Secretary of Administration in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Management from Kenyatta University.
